About Us
Stephanie Garibaldi, Director & Co-Founder
Stephanie Garibaldi is the hardest working story coach in the DC metro area–possibly the world. She has personally taught thousands the art of story, from ages 5 – 95, from students to CEOs, and from beginners to professional speakers. She is especially grateful to get to work with members of the military community by teaching for the Armed Services Arts Partnership, and college students through the University of MD and the Washington Media Institute. Her mission is to spread story love worldwide, one client or audience at a time. She also performs her award-winning stories nationally, and is a Moth GrandSLAM Champion as well as a Story Slam Finalist of the National Storytelling Festival.
She’s thrilled to publish her first collection of stories in both written and audiobook formats, called, “Mostly True Stories of Family, Fornication, & Other Failures.”
Vijai Nathan, Training Manager
Vijai Nathan is a comedian and storyteller who makes people laugh across America and around the world. You can hear her stories on NPR’s Snap Judgment and Invisbilia Live. She also has three solo shows: Woman On Top, McGoddess, and Good Girls Don’t, But Indian Girls Do.
Shamyla Tareen, Social Media Manager
Shamyla Tareen is the new wizard behind your screen and the Story Extreme website, whipping up likes, shares, and viral magic to keep your timelines movin’ and shakin’! Instagram is her favorite place to post new stories, but please keep that on the DL. Don’t share that truth bomb with Facebook, TikTok, or especially Twitter, as she posts on them all.
By day, Shamyla is a mental health therapist in private practice and a professor at Montgomery College. She is a frequent speaker, panelist and facilitator on mental health issues. In between trying to save the world, she’s trying to write a book, launch a podcast, and have a great life. She takes heart from the knowledge that the worst days often make the best stories!
Geraldine Buckley, Co-Founder
British born, internationally known, award-winning storyteller and educator, Geraldine Buckley is primarily known for personal stories that make people laugh and think. She teaches workshops and performs in conferences, colleges, corporations, prisons, schools, house concerts, and festivals throughout America and as far away as New Zealand.
She has been featured at the National Storytelling Festival and the Timpanogos Festival multiple times. Geraldine, who is frequently heard on Sirius radio, is the recipient of three gold awards from Storytelling World for her 3 CDs: Destination? Slammer!, Devils on Horseback and Other Odd Journeys, and Tea in the Slammer. Her latest solo show creation is called “The Pandemic Parables,” and is based on her frontline experiences as a hospital chaplain.

Vijai Nathan is one of the funniest people on this planet today. But it wasn’t always that way. In this story from her childhood days, she’s not even trying to be humorous. What she wants above all is to become a serious actor–to her grandma;s delight and her father’s horror. She works her beautiful behind off rehearsing and auditioning for every single school play. Only it’s tough-going to land any part, as the girl with the darkest complexion at her all-white school. Still she persists, and makes the most of every part she gets, with hilarious results.Thank goodness Vijai knew in her heart of hearts that she was destined for so much more than science and never lost the faith.
